Breech baby

posted 3rd Nov
I am due in 8 1/12 week and baby is still breech I am tryin not to panick but am do paranoid baby won't turn so wondered what the opinions are out the for breech birth? Or turning the baby or even elective csection. I live in uk so not sure on difference in rules/procedures in u.s but if any uk mums on here would be greatful to hear wot u think? This is my second baby and I would prefer not o have a section but don't want too many risks for my baby  . Am I just being unnecessarily worried? My son was head down Nd engaged by now that's y I'm worried x

My baby was breech & transverse until I was 35 weeks along. Your baby can change positions until the day you deliver. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to have a c section or anything like that. Just have patience

You have 8 more wks, relax. The sooner it gets, there are things you can do to turn baby. Try googling, there's really a lot of stuff.

Mine was unable to turn because of the shape of my uterus. I'd forgotten there was a reason until my friend reminded me today! I'm so forgetful

The midwife who examined me at my first appointment said that my uterus was an odd shape; instead of being rounded it was heart shaped. I can't remember the term! But it allowed more room up top and less to turn down the bottom so the baby couldn't get his bottom half out of the narrowed section. I ended up needing an External Version and then he was facing the right way up until I delivered. I needed an emergency Cesar though....

It was uncomfortable before because they give you the IV version of ventolin to relax the muscles of your uterus and it makes your heart race. You have to breathe through it and then it gets a bit easier. The turning itself feels quite awkward but I wouldn't say it was painful. It can cause a bit of bruising on your stomach and it's a little tender for a few days but otherwise it's fine

With any procedure in pregnancy there are always risks. They said there was a 5% chance that I could go into early labour but that's not very high. They also do a scan and have midwives check you over before and stay for 40 minutes after to make sure you're completely fine. Also, the tenderness may be because of the way mine was done. All of the things I read and watched before making the decision to go through with it used lubricant gel but the doctor did mine with talcum powder so it was really awkward. I was also his second section ever so he may not have been very good at the technical side.

Like I said, there are a lot of different things you can try before doing that. & you have 8 wks left. My friend's baby was breech for a long time. She went to a chiropractor every wk towards the end & it helped move the baby down.
