Title says it all, I am just curious how often your kids get toys. You can discuss it as well.

every so often depending on how his attitude and behavior is at home. usually if hes had a good week ill buy him a hot wheel at walmart since they are only 97 cents... or lately we have been slowly selling his old toys here and there, and the money from the old toys, i let him use to buy new stuff

Every once in a while. It has increased lately. Bribery is a huge part of my parenting strategy, and I've discovered that by promising him a $5 toy while grocery shopping I can get him to sit in the cart and be quiet. It turns a 2 hour trip into a 45 minute trip lol. So its not every time we go to the store, but when we grocery shop. Like once every 2 weeks or so. And then sometimes if DH or I am about and about and see some little something he would like, we get it for him. We normally use that kind of thing as a reward for good behavior.

Everytime we go out i always get Macie something. Most of the time she chooses playdough.. I wont spend over 10$ on her unless it's a holiday, or something she really really wants. Like last month she got sick and had to have a shot, and she was so good at the doctor. So, i took her to walmart and bought her one of those baby alives. It was baby alive, baby get better. It had a little syringe, and shot thing with it..

At the store if something really catches my eye I buy it for my son. But right now he's mostly interested in trying new foods so I buy him different types of food and sometimes plastic plates or baby utensils.

Yea, I have a habit of buying DD a toy every time we go to the store. I don't want her turning out how I was though, because I always expected a toy whenever we went to the store and if I didn't get it I would throw a fit.

Way too often. Every time we go to Walmart or something, M always wants to get the kids something. I try to stir him away but he just really loves their happy faces when they get something cool.

I get LO something every so often...and only if he is good.....
I can't bring myself to get him somethinge EVERY time we go out, regardless of behavior.
My step-mom used to buy something for my lil bro everytime she went out with or with out him. He is 12 and still asks "What did you get me?" as he is going thru the bags as soon as anybody walks in the door.

That is a really good idea.

Mainly Holidays and birthday...sometimes she will get something extra just because. She is pretty content but is now getting to the "I want" stage.

My 3 uear old gets to go to the.store and pick out a toy on certain days of the month but the catch is he has to donate an old toy to a child in need. so we do this once or twice a month and then he picks out a toy to take to our community clothing bank so that he can make another child happy.

Rarely as of now. She has SO many toys she doesn't need more lol. I stick to buying her food and clothes. If we go in a store and she's fussy I get her a toy to play with and then put it back at the checkout. It occupies her and right now she's young enough to forget. When she's older, she'll get toys for good behavior or doing good at dr visits.
As a kid I was taught not to ask for anything in the store unless we were going to get something for me. I'm going to try and do the same for her.

Haha awww, I am the same way. Even though my DD is only 9 months, she gets soo excited for a new toy.
