overheard someone threaten to TAN their kids bottoms? how trashy is that? or witness them full out spanking them right in the middle of walmart?

I've been at walmart and heard "Stop it or I'll give you something to cry about" like five times. Dad was a smurfing smurf. I've seen a lot of spankings in public too.

the other day I heard a little boy whinning at his mom saying he was thirsty, and the mom screamed at him STOP SmUrfING CRYING OR I WIlL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT.

I litterally felt sick.... get your kid a drink of water? what the hell?

I have spanked my kid in public and really did not care who thought it was trashy. It is usually used as a last resort type of thing.

I've seen a grandpa be really annoyed and mean to his grandson at the store it made me feel so bad for the kid he wasn't even doing anything wrong he was just asking his grandpa for attention...

My parents used to say there would blister my behind. Did I think they would literally leave a blister? No.
I dont spank my kids in public. That should be done behind closed doors to save whatever dignity that child has left.

I personally think its worse then the kids screaming their heads off and the parents are just acting like its not happening.

I wouldn't hit my daughter but I don't care if someone else is. Unless they're beating them, that's their parenting methods.

There is a respectful way to discipline your child and there is a disrespectful way. Telling your kids you will give them something to cry about, beat thier ass, or tan thier ass is discusting and isn't discipline, its abuse.

I agree that in some cases spanking is needed, but I feel most the time the parents use it as a release for thier frustration and anger which makes me sick.
