I over heard a Mom screaming /cussing at her 4 ish year old daughter who was crying ...she was acting really rough with her...pulling and twisting her arn.....I wanted to call the police or something but my fiance told me not to cuz we were on a bad side of town..made my heart hurt...that lil girl looked so scared.

I personally dont care if my kids cry. If they need something to drink then by all means, I will get something.
If they are crying because they cant have a toy or whatever...keep crying. I will keep pushing the cart and pretend I dont hear you. Kids cry. That is what they do. They are allowed to be mad. Hell...I get mad. Should I get a spanking too?

I do spank my kids....just not for crying.

It is trashy to spank kids in public. It's reacting without rationally thinking. If you want to spank your kid, take them to the bathroom. And during that walk, see if you both can calm down... therefore avoiding a spanking.

My friend does this with her kid. All she has to say is, "Do we have to make a trip to the bathroom?" and her daughter shuts up ASAP.

Last time we went to the store my 20 month old was throwing a tantrum over seeing all the bikes they had out..& was screaming his head off..people were gawking..I told him "cry louder, it makes more people stare at the crying baby!"   I really don't care.

Idgaf. I'm not buying him a bike. & everytime I let him explore the bikes he throws a fit over leaving the section anyways.

IMO its verbal abuse at the least, add in the spanking then its physcial. I consider it abuse if its an emotional release for the parent instead of actually a calm collected discipline technique.

That's what we do with my 3yr old. He hardly gets spanked anyways & If he does its for a GOOD reason.
Smurf he threw a sippy cup at his brothers head today..didn't get spanked..but he sat in timeout for a good 5 minutes.

when we took our daughter trick or treating there was a boy and his mother following him in her car idk what really happened but i noticed he was carrying a grocery bag for his candy, and it had holes so his candy was falling out.. his mom said to get in the car and he said no wait hold on and she yells out GET THE SmUrf IN THE CAR Smurf
i was so shocked..

I hate that smurf.   Some parents are so impatient just because they're the adults. Maybe some of these kids wouldn't throw so many tantrums if their parents actually took two seconds to see what was going on.
