It sucks. She sucks the life out of everyone there. It's fun when she's not there... it's hell when she's there. Just, ugh. I also HATE pushing credit cards. She was all "You have an hour and a half left, you have no Place cards, you need to fix that problem." Okay well when people say no, I let it be.

She heard me asking some people about the credit card and they would say no. I'd say "Are you sure, you save 20% instantly!" And they say no. I think it's wrong to even press just once after they say no. Then she says "Blah blah blah here are the perks of the card, you get blah blah blah save 20% today!" going on and on. When they leave it's "You gave up too easy, you need to push the cards!"

And she said "If I don't hear you asking a customer for a card and I ask them and get the card, it will go under MY name. It won't be your card!" I felt like saying "I dont care how many cards I get!" for smurfs sake.... leave peoples credit alone!!!!

She sounds like a total tool. I'd make a complaint. ESP with the smiling thing. SMILE BIGGER is just so, crazy horror movie. And I for sure as a shopper don't appreciate the technique she's using.

Oh yeah... and others don't appreciate it either. I get compliments from customers for how I approach them and interact. You can tell they don't like her. Today I was helping a customer talk about our sizes and she was all "Well I don't think this kind of pants will fit our chubby baby, I wish you had stuff like ABC" and was ready to leave and I'm all "Wait we do have those kinds of clothes! Come over here and I'll show you" and showed them these outfits. She said "Wow you have more than I thought, thanks for taking your time to help me!" I didn't need to try to upsell anything, I did awesome. More people bought things by me simply saying stuff like "Well at my daughters age she wore this kind of stuff...." and they follow my lead with buying clothes. No use bs'ing people. It works to be honest and genuinely nice and people will buy stuff from there.



BUT.... now theres this issue with this chick at work. The girl is weird. She's new and just kind of out there. I think I previously posted about how she was the girl that wanted to know who talked smurf about each other and what the gossip was at work.

Well today she was trying to process a return. She is bitching about "The manager won't come and help me, she's busy but I need help!!" She was on the verge of losing it. I stopped what I was doing, went and helped her figure out her issue. I said "I'm newish too, I don't know everything either, just take a breather, apologize to the customer for not knowing, and don't stress. It will get figured out." I was totally calm and used my "teacher voice." lol

Well later on we are in the back and she says "I hate this smurf, I work 8 hours next week. Like why the hell is everyone getting more hours than me?"

Then the kicker starts. A quick back thought... today I was 20 minutes late and called my manager almost 2 hours before to tell her a family emergency happened. I said "I may or may not be late but if I'm late I won't be long. I will gladly take my call-in shift today to make up for it, I just really need to tend to family matters." My manager says "We needed your call in shift anyways, so go ahead and take your time and we will see you when you get here. It's no problem." So all is cool. Then almost 2 weeks ago I didnt have a sitter last minute because Lily was home from school, so I called in and said I just couldn't be there because of Lily. The manager said "Well it's slow today so it's okay." Then earlier this week I was given a schedule that showed me as NOT working when the main schedule showed me working. This happened to another girl the day prior, so my manager said "I think the database had an error, because this happened earlier this week. Come in if you can, otherwise I understand because it's not your fault." That's the only times I haven't been there, or have been late. Otherwise I've been early. I am always early. I dont like being late, lol.

Well this girl said "So why do you have more hours than me, like why aren't you fired?" I was confused as smurf. I said "What do you mean?" She said "You work from 12 to 8 today. I worked 4 hours. I only have 8 hours this week, you get 20 and others get more. You are like, never here and late every time." I looked at her like "What crack are you on?" Keep in mind that when I called in because Lily didnt have a sitter.... she wasnt even hired. She was there today, and saw me come in late. 20 minutes, which was excused. She is a new worker. So I said "I'm always here for my shift and when a problem arises the manager has okayed it. I had a family emergency today, and it was no problem. I have no idea what you are talking about." She said "You are always calling in and are late all the time, like, I just don't know how you have your job and I get these smurf hours and you get more than me." I walked away before I would blow. I talked to another manager that I'm close with and I'm all "Seriously, have I ever pissed anyone off?" And shes all "You are not late all the time or calling in... you've been excused and you make up for it (like staying late or coming in on others shifts). I just had my mouth drop at this chick.

Then later on she's having another fit. One, the fit was because she thought an associate was late coming in from her break. She apparently approached this associate and said "You were gone longer than you were supposed to" and when the person said they took the appropriate break she got ticked and called her a liar and had a real problem with it. She was then bitching to other associates, in front of customers "I was supposed to start my break, because of her taking a 40 minute lunch instead of 30 I'm late on my break!" My manager talked to her and said "If you have a problem with an associate you come to me, you do not gossip to other people." The girl looked at me and said "She saw her come back at this time, she was late!" I said "She took her break immediately after me. I came back at 440, she came back at 510. I know it because I was ringing up customers and saw the time. She wasn't long on her break." Girl has a pissy look.

Then later she had to count out her drawer and says to ME "Dont you think the manager should be here, like I need to leave and she needs to count down my drawer, like dont you think thats crap?" shes yelling it across the store. I said "I cant count you out, I can find Rosanna but otherwise I cant tell you what to do." She gets all pissy. Again.

So work was LOVELY with this chick. And then not to mention my manager was being a smurf again because the early manager told me to stock shoes a certain way... and then my other manager wanted it a different way. Not too bad though.

But that one girl... man I work with her tomorrow, cant WAIT to see her attitude tomorrow! ;)

Oh my holy meatballs. That chick sounds INSANE. But I guess now you know why she was asking around about office gossip- because she's a huge gossipy drama queen. Icky.

Usually when I'm in a situation where I'm brand new like I that i lay super low for the first few months to just get a feel for people or whatever. Hopping in and trying to put people on blast that have been there longer is just so weird.

One manager I became close with, I don't think she would give a damn. The other manager is a very no-nonsense, not chatty with anyone type. She is the type that if someone starts to say something she wants PROOF. Not "Jenn came in late!" She would say something like "Well how do you know she came in late, and thats my business not yours." Type. The other girl would just be shush shush about it too and then come to me and say "Dude, so why did you piss this girl off so bad" and laugh knowing I didnt do anything.

I have a coworker that I became friends with, and she was part of the "So who are the bitches here?" Convo. I walked up to her today, and said "So not to be the gossipy bitch, but um, I don't like that chick." And she said "Yeah, shes smurfing crazy and pissing me off."

WHICH REMINDS ME! Another thing she said today! She was in the back processing. Which is where you take a box, find the item in the book and see if you need to hang it, fold it, what kind of fold you do, etc... then you have to do what it says. My manager expects a lot of us when processing stuff, but ALL of the people who process say "Dont stress, do your best. Because she's not back here realizing how stressful it is and if she wants 120 items processed an hour, she can do it herself." Seriously, that smurf takes awhile. Especially when you have to climb ladders to put smurf away.

Well this girl says "Do you know what beat the box is? I can't do this, I am timing myself and nowhere near it and I'm going to get written up and no one will tell me how to do this and Im freaking out!" So again I stop what I'm doing and say "Okay, when you open a box you look at the style number. Find that in the catalog and you will see how it should be processed. Size run it, and all is good. Just refer to the book." She was flipping, literally FLIPPING HER Smurf. She shows me this thing on the box that says "This box should be processed in X amount of time." I say "Don't worry about that, process at your own speed, just get a system going. Don't worry about the box." I show her how to process and she said "No, I have to go by the time on the box or Rosanna is going to write me up." I said "It is your first time processing. She is not going to write you up. Seriously, just go by the book, do what you can." She continues to flip saying she doesn't understand how to do it. Its not rocket science. I said "Again, look at the style numbers and the book. You will find it all on there." She continues to bitch, I leave, lol.

But yeah the girl is insane. Another thing, today we had associate appreciation day so we had 40% off all items for associates. I brought Lily in to try on clothes. She is STARING MY FAMILY DOWN the entire time I am getting items. I cant buy when I'm on the clock, so my Mom brings it to the front to put on hold and my Mom said "Can you put this on hold for Jenn?" And she stares at my Mom, scoffs a minute, and then says loudly "YEAH SURE!" and puts it aside. My Mom is all "Um, okay, thanks." The smurf was her issue?!

But thanks to customer appreciation day and the sales we are already having.... I got Lily perfume, 2 long sleeved t-shirts, 2 headbands, a purple dress with lace in the front, and a white dress with a holiday pattern (it's a thick dress, like a sweater) for like 40 bucks. SmUrf YES MAN!!!! SCCCCOOOOOORRREEE!

Hopefully crazypants won't last long. You'd think with all her insane plotting and just overall weirdness that she'd get run off by someone fairly soon. I don't see how someone like that would stay at a job very long.

No. Kidding. It's like a sitcom, ha ah ha

So I talked to my manager today. We have our "huddle" at the beginning of every shift and talk about sales. So we were told what to do, I was put on the register and I then pulled my manager aside and said :
"Okay, so I know I don't really need to disclose this but I think I need to because of what you have been saying. You want me to smile and smile bigger, but the fact is I have Bells Palsy, which is facial paralysis, and I physically can not smile bigger. In fact, if I do it looks like a grimace. It's not me not wanting to smile, because I do, but if I smile at a customer I do what is comfortable for me because it is something I am self conscious about." She said "Wow I didnt know that, you can't tell." I said "Yeah, it used to be a lot worse. It used to be where I couldn't close my eye, I had no reflexes at all and had to tape my eye shut." So she said "Okay, well I'm sorry, I now know." I said okay, and all was well.

So no comments the rest of the day. My coworkers and I were talking about how we miss the other manager because work has been freaking hell. We joked about getting her a cake and saying "WE MISSED YOU! DONT EVER LEAVE US AGAIN!" lol

Ha ha! Well I'm so glad she was understanding about the gigantic smile policy, lol.

I talk it up to my customers. A lot of them ask for advice on sizes or other random questions and I talk about Lily. I give little kids stickers and tattoos. Believe me, it can't be about being friendly because I am... that Im sure of, lol.
