Those with convertible carseats

if you skipped the infant carrier and only bought a convertible very seat, is it harder when you make trips to the.store or places of that sort? Did you have a stroller in the car so you wouldn't cart the baby everywhere? Were you able to leave the hospital without an infant cartier?

You should have no issue leaving the hospital most convertibles are 5lbs+. Although we had an infant carrier I always have a stoller in the car or we use a baby carrier (Ergo,Wrap, ect)

I had an infant carrier until 6 months then used my convertible. But you can wear your baby in stores, they like it better. Infant carriers should be in the buggy not on top and I am a single mom so I had to wear her anyway bc I couldn't our groceries and the carrier in the buggy. Also at restaurants they have a sling for the infant carrier but I would put a blanket down and lay her in or then buckle her up. Its like a little bassinet. I used a month wrap to carry other times.

We used the infant seat for about 3 months and then switched to the convertible. I used a Moby wrap when we had to go into places.

I'm still debating what to do this time. I'll probably use my infant seat for a while since I do think it's so much more convenient and it's not expired. I used the infant carrier until my daughter got too tall at around 14 months. I hated it when we had to switch and I couldn't just pop the whole thing out. In the very beginning wasn't as much of a big deal because I wore her a lot.

We use the convertible from the get go with our second. It was fairly easy . She never napped in the car and even almost three years later she still hates car rides so a sleeping baby was never an issue with us . i often used the Moby wrap when we got out at places or used the infant seats that come attached to the carts . I had a birth center birth out side a hospital so it was never an issue as far as convertible verses carrier. With my third kid however I broke down and bought a carrier because there was just no way I was going to be able to handle two older kids and an infant at the same time. I got a carrier with a high weight and height limit though so I wouldn't need to by another car seat right away. I have the Combi shuttle and love love love it!! My son is nine months and over 22lbs and still in his seat .

That's what I was thinking because this is baby number 4

The infant carrier IMO was more hygienic lol. When we were at the shops, we could just click it out from the base and either hold it or put it in the cart. Instead of having the handle baby, put it in a dirty baby seat thats on the cart etc. We wouldn't have to wake him which was great. Im small though so lugging a carrier around was such an effort. We mostly just use a stroller with out the carrier. Our carrier didn't click onto the stroller which if I knew more about those type I would of definitely invested in one that did. We only used it for about 4 months cause I couldn't carry it any more.
For our second we used a convertible and a twin stroller.
Leaving the hospital wasn't a problem because most people over here have the convertibles.
