Star, I've told you before. I'm not "fat and happy" but I do have fat. And I did suffer a very abused childhood partially because my bio-dad was one of those people who hate fat people, if we weren't olypian shape, we were fat. We were told that day in and day out, we were made to do so many physically exhausting things because we were "fat". We were withheld food. I was 98lbs when I was 15. This was a mental abuse and I became obsessive. Even now I fight with seeing myself through that hatred he implanted about fatness and your posts help me to bring me back and feel better with myself- and I share with my friends who have also suffered from the terrible stigma that "fat is a sin".

People who come here and bash you are only making these people with these mental issues feel worse, only re-affirming that you are bad because you are fat, or because you have fat. You can be happy and healthy at any size, it's not about your size, it's about how you feel and your quality of life derived from your mental state. people who have fat do not need some punishment of depression because of what makes them who they are.

I am not fat but I love her quotes and pics! I don't think you're promoting obesity or saying that everyone should be fat. I think you're promoting positive thoughts and how everyone should be comfortable in their own skin and not stress out because you don't look like a Victoria's Secret model!

Our pasts can really do a number on us, can't they? I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

Well, Devil's Advocate and I have a pretty civil relationship and I support her and her fit and happy quotes. I see nothing wrong with encouraging healthy behaviors as long as it is not demeaning fat people (regardless of how active their lifestyle is). Different strokes for different folks.

I just don't get how so many people can presume to know what kind of lifestyle I lead or feel the need to tell me why I do the things I do on here. I feel the people that are really hateful are really just speaking from their own insecurities, you know? What people say to me has little to do with me, but a whole lot to do with them.

There is also a very real fear of fat and fat stigma in our society.

Yes! I am promoting self-love and self-acceptance with no qualifiers. That's really it. I'm not saying you have to be fat to be happy or that because you are fat you need to stay fat and be happy with it. It is more of a message of be who you are in this present moment and live your life now and find love within yourself as you are.
