Yea it is selfish because you want him out because he is hurting YOU, even though he isn't ready to be born yet.

Drink four glasses of mandarin orange juice (HAS TO BE MANDARIN or it won't work), spin in 3 clockwise circles (again, has to be clockwise.. if you accidentally spin counter clock-wise, start over with the juice.) and then repeat the following:

I'm having this baby early for the benefit of my baby
I believe that my baby will have the best chance at life if I birth him/her now
I am not a selfish mother

If you truly believe a single word of this, you are not too smart  
I recommend reconsidering employment as an OBGYN as well.. it seems you would give TERRIBLE advice to expecting mothers who at this stage in pregnancy need not be told how to make their babies be born premature, but how to seek support in how to make the last 3-5 weeks bearable.

Sorry but there is nothing you can do to start your contractions, period. If you are planning to be an OB/Gyno then you really need to start reading about these things. I have been pregnant 8 times and no matter the pain nothing in this freaking world started premature labor.
No there are exceptions but they are health related. the following:
Women are at greatest risk for premature labor if:
They are pregnant with multiples
They have had a previous premature birth
They have certain uterine or cervical abnormalities
Medical risk factors include:
Recurring bladder and/or kidney infections
Urinary tract infections, vaginal infections, and sexually transmitted infectionsInfection with fever greater than 101 degrees F during pregnancy
Unexplained vaginal bleeding after 20 weeks of pregnancy
Chronic illness such as high blood pressure, kidney disease or diabetes
Multiple first trimester abortions or one or more second trimester abortions
Underweight or overweight before pregnancy
Clotting disorder (thrombophilia)
Being pregnant with a single fetus after in vitro fertilization (IVF)
Short time between pregnancies (less than 6-9 months between birth and beginning of the next pregnancy)

This is called parenthood, put your babies needs first not yourself.

if you want some good adivce
take a warm bath
relax stay off your feet
use a heating pad

i know the baby is hurting you but sorry 37 weeks is to early give it till you are 39 weeks and then go down really bumpy roads i done it and my son was born at 39 weeks and we came home the next day i was hurting back from the time i was 31 weeks try a really hot bath it should help

All 3 of mine were born 37 wks and perfectly healthy..My last 2 I did have to help tho because I was miserable. Someone before said sex...worked for me both times!! Contractions started almost directly after finishing so I just walked and walked until my thighs were hurting so bad...pain in ur thighs means labor is progressing my dr says. I just kept walking until they put me in a room and literally made me sit down. Plus walking while you labor helps baby drop and its not near as painful as laying in a bed on ur back laboring for hours. Good luck to u on gettin tht baby out. Now, bring on the criticism =)
