I'm getting induced..

Well my Dr thinks that the baby will be 10lbs and says she can get stuck and he wants to avoid a C-Section. I am going in the hospital on the 13th at 2 pm and getting induced on the 14th. A week before my due date. I am not dilated or nothing so I don't think she will come until then anyways.

They said the same thing about mine and it was one of the top rated doctors in Texas. He came out 7 lbs 9 oz. But its about what you think you should do. I wish you the best of luck no matter what happens!!

I had that problem!
When I was pregnant with DS my doctor said my son was going to be 10-11 pounds, and this was when I was 36 weeks or so.
And I went into labor about 37-38 weeks and he was only 8 pounds.
According to doctor he was already 6-7 pounds at 36 weeks.

I went in Tuesday night at 8pm got the cervidil wasn't making any progress so they gave me 2 doses of cytotech or somethin like that still wasnt dilating or anything so they sent me home after bein in L&D for almost 24hrs...lost my plug yesterday morning and now im just waiting...if i don't go on my own between now and sunday i will have to be induced AGAIN on monday at 8pm...

OMG im getting induced that day too!!!! Nov 14th!! we have to keep in touch.
They scheduled it here and i cant eat anything past midnight and i have to show up at 6 am on the 14th to get induced.. Im excited!!
Mine is not because my baby is big though. My baby is actually on the small side (genetics) He was 6 pounds according to his u/s yesterday and i'll be 38 weeks tomm. BUT i cant wait and im scared at the same time!

At least they let you go home. I'm glad it didn't turn into a failed induction **Resulting in c-section** (edited). It will happen. Stay strong!!

Yeah,I'm trying to stay strong but I'm getting miserable now lol....My dr didn't even give c-section as an option which I'm happy about.I'm glad it didn't turn into a failed induction either...but when they told me I wasn't dilating I honestly felt like a failure but at the same time I was happy bc now I know he will be full term.

I don't know. He just told me today that if she got to that weight she would get stuck and he thinks she will be. And that he for sure doesn't want me to go past my due date. I am surprised he just bam talked about induction so quick. I am excited but I am nervous. I would prefer her to just come on her own but she seems like shes hanging out. They said her estimated weight now is almost 8 lbs. Maybe they think she will be huge since I was 10lbs 1 oz & my SO was 9lbs. I am not quite sure.

Aw wow, well that's much closer to your due date then mine. My Dr for some reason thinks she is going to be huge I don't know why though. I totally did not expect to be told I was getting induced a certain date. I just though it was going to be a check up and that's that. Baby will be here in 12 days I am feeling all sorts of ways. I can't wait to meet her but now its like woah shes finally coming this day for sure.

Me too i cant believe he'll be here in only 1 week and 5 days!! Did they already schedule yours though because if that is not what you want let them know how you feel. I made the choice for mine but how do they know that next week your baby will be weighing what they think? Ive heard that they are off usually and the baby is smaller than what they think but im no doctor. I hope everything turns our good for you though!!! we are going to get through it and have our babies!!!
