Oh she is absolutely beautiful. It's important to be able to talk about her if you want to. People may just not know what to say. Sometimes we just need someone to listen. I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you. They think it was velamentous (sp?) cord insertion. Pretty much the cord wasn't "fused" right into the placenta and pulled away at the last minute causing her to lose all of her blood.

I am so very sorry! That brought tears to my eyes. She is just so beautiful. I heard a quote about losing a loved one and I don't know if it'll help but it goes "I'll never get over it, but I'll get past it" I think that is so true. I lost my mom when I was seven and I still cry about it. Truly wish I could give you a hug right now.

Us mamas have to stick together, having each others support makes us stronger. You were a very strong person for sharing this photo.

So sad and she is absolutely gorgeous (I speak of her in present time for a reason, because she is an angel and is still near). Hugs to you and I think it's sad some people are uncomfortable with it, she just looks like she is sleeping. A peaceful sleeping angel.

Aw thanks....that is definitely true. I am sorry you lost your mom at such a young age   That must have been so so hard. You are right though, still hard...nothing we will ever "get over". But you have to keep living..

I was told I had velamentous cord insertion after my son's birth. I am thankful every day he is here and no one around me realizes how serious that can be. I went four days overdue and had him vaginally, which my doctor said would not have happened had they caught it in ultrasounds. It honestly made my heart sink when I read this from you because it really hits home how devastating this condition is. Regardless of why you lost your child, any reason is absolutely heartbreaking and I am so, so sorry. I hope you don't take it the wrong way that I shared about my son's story, considering the different outcome. I swear it's not out of insensitivity. I have just never seen another person here with this issue and wanted you to know I realize the severity of it. Again, I am incredibly sorry for what has happened to you. That is insanely unfair and I sincerely wish you the strength to heal over time. I cannot imagine how you feel. ):

No, I am glad you shared your story and sincerely happy that your son's outcome was different. And he is such a cutie btw
I don't understand why they don't look for it more as 1 in 100 pregnancies have that problem...but not all end the way mine did. But many do too. And mine probably could have been prevented too had they detected it earlier. I had an u/s less than a week before and then woke up and didn't feel her moving at 39 weeks. I have done good moving past the "what ifs" and am trying to not be a bitter person and I think I am doing a pretty good job of that. They will look for this if I am blessed with another pregnancy in the future.
