How do you feel? I am writing a paper and I want to know how people feel on the topic. I think drug testing should be implemented for all welfare recipients. What do you think? Please let us know why you feel the way you do and if you have facts let us know where you got them from. TIA!

Welfare is paid from tax money. (Most) Tax payers have to pass drug tests in order to work at the jobs where they pay their taxes from. Recipients should have to pass drug tests in order to get that tax money.

Florida did this. It cost the taxpayers $178 million dollars, and 98% passed. The state recovered about $65,000 from that 2%. It has since been deemed unconstitutional and was overturned

I'm not receiving assistance and I think drug testing for welfare is total BS. As long as everyone is taken care of in the family then who cares if a parent uses $5 for themselves.

I think they should drug test. If you can afford drugs you can afford food, JMO.

But it's sad to know that the children of the dumb parents get punished as well.

Why not? I can't see a negative in the idea.

Why would a person go apply for welfare if they know they aren't going to pass the drug test?

they should do it, you have all this money to buy drugs then you should have enough money to pay for food and your rent. plus drugs aren't cheap now and days.

Waste of money.

Hopefully, if the dumb parents didn't pass the drug test, the state could save the poor kids, hopefully.

Then again, my mother was a drug addict, we had food stamps, and she never fed us hardly ever anyway...
