We are finally done with all the IEP paperwork

So today was the last of the IEP stuff for the year.. it was just the school nurse asking about kaylee's history.. they want to keep an eye on her emotional well being because of the bulling and the abandonment issues i guess but thats not part of her IEP..

they diagnosed her with moderate to severe phonological disorder (really bad speech impediment)i guess even with a trained speech therapist she could only understand 50% of her speech at best.. but for some reason i dont know if they were trying to reassure me but her IEP paperwork kept stating she was a very beautiful little girl they also stated other then the speech issue she is well above average in intelligence and is mastering skills a year or two advanced .we made a plan because the only section she was failing for pronucation of the letters which now they are passing her on it because she knows it in her head it just doesnt come out correctly verbally. also the principle and vice principle and teacher is very well aware of the bullying because some kids even older kids will make fun of the way she talks that she comes home upset.. its to be brought to thier attention imediately..

we are at 2-20 minute individual sessions a week at school of speech therapy and when her insurence is switched in jan. the speech therapist is writing a recomendation of the pedi to have kaylee do an additional hr with a privite therapist out side of school a week..

but all and all im happy its done

were just starting this process   dean has adhd and odd... I'm so lost with all this crap... the school is dragging their feet and I feel so bad for his teacher

the speech therapist said she should of been getting ST since she was 2.. but they dragged thier feet..her last school said she will grow into it.. then when she started kinder att his school within the first week the teacher had the ST in the classroom for my daughter because she couldnt understand kaylee

my biggest concern was socially how it was goign to affect kaylee.. they said shes super smart and caring.. shes also i people pleaser so she doesnt understand why kids are mean to her..
