Dishes.
Laundry.
Vacuuming.
Mopping.
Mowing lawn.

Basically anything non-dangerous.

I had to keep my room clean, do dishes every other night, vacuum MWF, do my own laundry, and took out trash.

I had to clean my room every weekend, set dinner plates and silverware out, help clean up dinner and do dishes. On weekends I also had to help clean up the living room/rec room and vacuum it and the stairs. I also had to do my own laundry

I would think pretty much any household chores.

My (almost) 10 year old is responsible for; loading and unloading the dish washer, tidying the living room and toy room (he shares this responsibility with his (almost) 6 year old sister), his own laundry (I fold it for him, he puts it away), taking out garbage and recycling, and of course maintaining a clean bedroom.

I imagine a 12 year old can do more, although I know 12 years that don't even do half that.

Quoting P Pickle Pants:" <blockquote><b>Quoting -A-:</b>" what kind of chores should a 12 year old ? "</blockquote> ... [snip!] ... non-dangerous. I had to keep my room clean, do dishes every other night, vacuum MWF, do my own laundry, and took out trash."

my mother set up a "reward system" with our chores when we were that age. We had to keep our rooms clean throughout the week as usual, but on the weekends she had a list of things that we could do, and each one was worth a certain amount of money. For example, vaccuuming would be worth $1, cleaning the bathroom would be $4, and so on...dusting, washing dishes, doing OTHER ppls laundry, taking out the trash...

all the money that we made, she put into our savings accounts
