Annoyed by doctors.

posted 1st Nov
So the last few appointments I have had with my midwife she has forgot to do things. Plus we get there 15-20 minutes before our appointment and they are always behind and squeezing people in so we end up having to wait 3-4 hours before being seen (no smurfing joke). Which stinks with three other kids to sit there and have to wait all night to be seen. Anyways we even have to drive 45 minutes to just get there so rescheduling doesn't work. Plus I have to work around hubby's schedule so he can drive me, and around my kids because of drop offs with their father. Anyways it is a freaking mess on our family. So yesterday I turned 37 weeks showing all signs of him coming in the next few days I decided to switch to a local small town doctor. In case I need to be seen one more time. She will also being doing my follow ups and my kids care. Anyways it is five minutes away in a small small town she is good. We are doing a home birth so I don't really need a doctor. If we have an emergency we would go to the nearest hospital and my midwife isn't able to help there. So even if we did have issues I wouldn't ask for her because she is so overloaded with patients that I would just use on call doctors. It isn't her fault she is overloaded but I am so frustrated because they are mad about me changing. I don't see why it matters considering we aren't planning on using her or a hospital. Plus planning half a day around an appointment is getting old! Sorry for the vent, it is just irritating. I needed to get it off my chest.

I don't blame you! Honestly, from what you described, I'm surprised you waited this long to switch with all that mess.

Waiting that long for those types of appointments is normal around here, lol. Plus how do you know she was forgetting things? There were lots of things I thought should have been done based on what people were saying on here, but it actually differs from place to place.

Smurffy situation though, I know it all too well lol

I am just venting it is hard on anyone with any schedule. I even feel bad for anyone else that has this issue there. But I KNoW she forgot things because I never got a glucose test done or strep b and I was supposed to have y thyroid checked monthly. Especially if I am having issues which I have been. Long stories but it is just a fact of having to many patients. Which genus amazing but forgetting these things and being there for hours in end doesn't make up for it.

Lol but it is really getting old and sitting there that long in chairs they have omg sucks! Lol oh well hopefully he comes and I don't need to go anyways.

I wouldnt have stayed.
My OB was the same way and that's a huge reason I'm going with a midwife and doing a home birth this time.
My visits are always 30-60 minutes long even in the very beginning when there wasn't much to do. Midwives are supposed to be more caring, compassionate, and slower paced. Especially if you're doing a home birth!!

And I have never waited more than 5 minutes.

My other midwife was like that. But the one I am seeing is the ONLY one here. She was very helpful at the beginning but now different. Which she doesn't do home births so oddly her being an midwife she is against it! Wth! Oh well I will see the small town once more if I have to.

Yeah i'd be pretty ticked too if she didn't do those tests, it's not really tests that people would turn down no matter where or how they were delivering. Especially the strep B!

The delivering is not even a concern with a UC. But I was just upset now over it. Because I know I will see who I want. It is nothing personal against her, it is just I am hiring to do my care, and if I pay her to do it she needs to actually do it.

We had mentioned it a few times to staff and her. My husband went crazy every time we went in there before the staff was playing on their phones and would hold their finger up for one minute! REALLY?! This place is the "top" place to go, and is inside a hospital. I was shocked. Anyways it stinks because the small town doctor is worried about getting in the middle of it. I just told her the option was see me or I wouldn't get care because I refuse to have to sit there for hours on end anymore. Plus I have every sign I won't make it longer, just trying to hold off till after this weekend.
