When you have a contraction...

Does your entire belly tighten up or just part of it? I feel like I am not going to know if I am having contractions or not. My Dr told me your belly goes from feeling like your cheek to feeling like your forehead. But I am wondering if a part of your belly tightens or the whole thing will.

Gosh I need a life, I am being a huge post whore today, but I have no life so don't mind me  

When I have contractions my entire stomach hardens for the most part. maybe not as firm as my forehead but pretty close lol & its a little uncomfortable

Okay was just wondering. My Dr asked if I had any contractions I was like uhh I don't think so but I am not quite sure told her I had back pain. She then explained the cheek forehead thing haha She probably thinks I am a nut.

My entire belly gets tight...starts from the back and bottom and moves to the front and top

Okay since two of you said your entire belly and I never really heard anyone say parts of there belly I am guessing your whole belly will get tight then. Thanks for the responses.

My contractions before labor my whole stomach would tighten. During labor they felt like really strong cramps, and nothing felt like it was tighting up.
