Oh I completely understand your frustrations. I don't know why car seat safety is so difficult to understand for some moms. I have a friend who had her son forward facing at 6 months old!!! Not to mention she NEVER had his chest clip in the right place! Ugh

My 5 year old doesn't always use her car seat. So sue me.

That's what I was thinking, I mean unless the kid is tiny? My son wasn't in a car seat at 5.

Not true! In Minnesota, it's 8 years old OR 4'9" tall, which is really tall. But that's the law!

For a car seat? Maybe a booster but not a car seat.

A 5 year old should probably at least still be in a booster... I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to a child's life..

Well it sounds like OP meant he was in the car just sitting in the seat with no carseat or booster seat. Which is sickening!

DD doesn't use a booster if we are in the truck. It's not against the law here.

And, gasp, she was FF at 12 months and out of a 5 point harness last year.

I can think of worse things that are sickening. Plus, you dont know the laws for her area. Her 5 year old might not need a booster.

My 4 yr old sometimes rides without one. Sometimes I need to get a ride and I don't carry her seat with me, unless I know I need. It. I'm a car seat basically too. But I also mind my own buisness. It was one night give it a rest.

I remember being 5 or 6 and driving from Oklahoma to Florida. My parents had a van and they took the back seat out and put board games back there and toys to play with. We had a blast rolling around in the back!
