Most racist pep rally ever.

A small town high school near me has gathered NATIONAL attention because of a skit preformed at a pep-rally. 3 guys (white) dressed up in black face and made preformed a skit reenacting the Chris Brown Rihanna violence that went on.

Here is a news article on it. People are calling it the "most racist pep rally ever." and calling for the boys to be expelled..

Now for the D&D... With the Chris Brown/Rihanna part cut out, do YOU think them wearing black face is racist. And if you do, do you consider white face racist as well.

I don't think its racist, its just really tacky. I hate when people do that.

There is so much history behind "black face". It's like the word smurf. You can't just say it, or in this case do it, without acknowledging the history behind it.

I think it's tacky/inappropriate, and if black students were to do it with a "white face" I would think the same.

School appropriate? Definitely not and that's what they should get in trouble for.

Also, that Chris Brown and Rhianna beat down was super long ago.....you'd think they'd actually do a skit about something more recent....

Yeah the expulsion was way overboard. Suspension would have sufficed.

They okay'd the skit by the school board, the black face however, they did not. But as of now, they haven't been punished to my knowledge.

It's stupid. But the boys should not be expelled. If they want punish someone punish the advisor who allowed them to do it. I don't think it's racist.

That smurf was funny.   The fact that got hurt wasn't, its because he headbutted her like...wtf.

I don't understand why coloring their skin would somehow make the message better? What was the point? To make it more authentic? I think it was stupid and that they were trying too hard forgetting about the main point. I get they were trying to portray a specific incident but it seems like overkill. Then again I was just reading the other day about a movie they are making to honor an African American soul/blues singer. They darkened the skin of the actress playing her because she wasnt dark enough and nobody is calling that racist.

I agree with most people. I don't believe it was racist but it was terribly stupid and tacky. And I would think the same thing if the roles were reversed. I believe they never should have allowed the skit to be performed in the first place. I believe that was poor judgment on the school board's part. They should have recognized all the possible reactions that could have come from the community before approving this.
