Financing a new car with new job

posted 1st Nov
I'm wanting to trade my car in for a newer car that fits my lifestyle better very soon but I just started my new job last week. I was at my former job for 4 years and my current job is with a big well known company. Do I need to wait a few months? I have great credit so that's not an issue.

I had only been at my job for 2 months when I bought a car and a house. I work at Walmart, but DH also has a good job he's been at for quite a while.

I would just go in and try, see. What they say, I've gotten a car and didn't have a *legit* job, I just had to show around how much I was able to make, when I worked, I did modeling, so they asked for proof of how much could make and I gave them the last couple contracts I had and I was able to get financed lil over 50,000...

Did he co-sign? I don't want DH to co-sign because next year he's goign to trade his truck in for whatever he wants to get.

Dang!! Yeah, I'm looking more around $20k depending on how much I can get for my current car. I'm not worried about what I can get financed for, just wanted to make sure if it mattered that I've only been at my job for a few weeks or not.

How recent was the job change? We just purchased a new car a few days ago and DH has only been with this company for 9 months. From what I've gathered most lenders want 3-6 months, but I'd be willing to bet if your credit is good and you have a nice down payment it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Around here to get a loan you have to of have your current job for at least a year. If you want to do a buy here pay here type of thing for a car you have to have had the job for 6 months, at least that's what we were told when we went.

Just 2 weeks, lol. I've been planning on buying one but this job change was kind of sudden because my former employer got sick and had to close his office. I don't want to put it off any longer.

Just explain the situation and you should be fine. We just gave the 3 pay stubs since DH works out of 2 offices. Since he has only worked the second office for 2 months his YTD only says 10k, so we had to fax in his last pay stub from the other office. I don't think you'll have any issues.

I had a good down payment, if u have a Good down payment u should be ok, I had 6,000 to put down and they gaveme 1-2 weeks to come up with another 2,000 and they let me take car that night.

Same happened when my mom went to get her car, they took her 3,000 and gave her 1 week to come up with 1,500 more and she took car home that night...

We both signed on it together. We don't want cars in one name or the other.

I did want a car for the gas mileage but now that my new job is half the distance as my old job, that's not a nessecity anymore. So it opens up way more options and is even harder!! I want a smooth ride but still some power. I have a mini cooper s right now a fricken love it but i need something with four doors instead of two.
