Circumcision?

posted 1st Nov
First, WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!

Second, to circumcise or not to...

My husband doesn't seem to care. He says the appearance could be an issue in the restroom, but he's actually glad he didn't get circumcised.

I'm not opposed to it, but I do think it is unnecessary and somewhat superficial. I read about the procedural pros and cons when we started planning this baby because I just knew it was going to be a boy. But I am still indecisive!

Help!

Circumcised boys are now the minority   So, the whole shower/restroom ploy really doesn't work anymore. It's a total cosmetic surgery. And any studies that show it lessens STD's or infections, it's not true... that can all be prevented by safe sex and proper hygiene

I would get it done because it could cause problems when he is sexually active. It would a lot easier for him to get a yeast infection. and is harder to take care of.

also i might add those studies are done in Africa whit the AIDs and STD part.. if you wrap you are most likely not going to catch anything.. or get paper to show you are clean lol.

Wrong. Intact boys have a much easier sex life. The foreskin is natural lubrication... it glides easily, so no lube or spit required.

And it's not harder to take care of, lol. It's just like a vagina.... clean the folds. And voila.

its a personal choice. For my family, all boys will be circumcised.

Lol it's like women assume their boy is gonna be nasty and not clean themselves. Same could be said for a girl... we could easily remove the excess folds on our vagina, to make cleaning easier... but, that's mutilation

Ever since hubby and I watched Strange Sex and guy was regrowing his foreskin... I'm against circumcision.

Your choice OP do what you feel would be best for you and your family.

I left the decision up to daddy..he is the one who will be having the "boy parts" talk with him in a few years and just explained to him to imagine how difficult it would be to be different than daddy...then we found out both health insurances we have for him didn't cover it unless medically necessary and its not technically necessary...I'd say it doesn't bother me either way i've been with guys who were and who weren't no difference to me...i would keep in mind that circumcisions are wounds that need to be cared for..and my story is that when my poor son came back 2 mins later he pooped and so daddy went to change his diaper and the bandage fell off and blood was squirting everywhere and poor daddy was traumatized he wouldn't change a diaper til it healed...

Wow. I had no idea how much people's views have changed- years ago circumcision was the only way to go. Thanks for all your input, I think I have decided against, but will double check with my dahling.
