Losing weight during pregnancy
posted 1st Nov
I am 35 weeks pregnant and weigh four pounds less now then when I got pregnant. Then if you take into account the weight of the baby, uterus, placenta and all the other extras I have probably lost more. My friends and boyfriend are starting to say that my cheeks are sunk in and I am getting too skinny. I have gestational diabetes and follow a low carb diet but I do eat. Has this happened to anyone else and was your doctor concerned? Mine just says as long as the baby is healthy and growing like she should then it's fine. This is my 4th baby, I gained 35 pounds with my first, 8 pounds with my second ( had gestational diabetes with him) and 4 pounds with my last ( gd again).

Are you a fluffy girl? I lost 20lbs my entire pregnancy but the baby was growing fine so the docs werent concerned. I am fluffy and was on bed rest...i couldnt snack a lot and some of it was prolly muscle.

Are you bigger?
I lost a ton of weight with my 3rd and beginning of my 4th. I am smaller though, and mine was attributed to hyperemesis. I just had more anatomy and growth scans to ensure the baby grew properly.

No I am 5 foot 6 inches and weighed 164 before I got pregnant. I have been staying right around 160 when I go to the doctor. One week I was 163 but I was very swollen when I went and the doctor said she thought it was all water weight. Now I am back to 160. I am just tired of everyone freaking out because my face looks so skinny. I can't help it! If I had my choice I would eat an entire chocolate pie in one sitting, LOL!

I'm 19 weeks and right at my pre-pregnancy weight. My doctor explained that your baby basically feeds off fat to grow, whether its from you or food you eat. As long as your ultrasounds look good take it as a blessing! Most women gain weight during pregnancy.
