sound wave at non stress test to wake baby

so i had a non stress test tuesday and they used a sound wave thingy to wake her up and get her moveing pretty sure she didnt like it she kicked right away wasnt kicking or any thing before and kept moveing til i went to bed at 3 am have another non stress test tomorrow (thursday) hope they dont have to do that again also waiting on my 24 hr urine to come back dropped it off a few hrs ago bps ok once in a while it acts up but is then fine had protein in it for a few weeks

Why did they give you that test?

I have a NST every Monday and Thursday. They have only had to use the jolter once and he went back to sleep a few hours later. It isnt dangerous it just gets the movements, breathing, and heart rate fluctuations needed from the baby to make sure that development is going well.
