Amnio for maturity at 38 weeks good stories?

I go in one week from today for a Maturity Amnio to make sure babys lungs are mature and if so I will be induced next Wensday. For those of you that have had this done how many actually had everything go fine? Im worried that the amnio isnt going to be good. Any stories?

Oh wow, they'll induce the same day you get it done (if they're mature)? I thought it took a day or more to get the results.

I find out Friday if they'll do one for me at 37w. From what the doctor told me, the worst case scenarios would be that they rupture the sac (in which case, you go deliver) or I start contracting (again, I go deliver). I guess it doesn't hold the same risks that it does in the first/early second trimester.

Yea My OB is bringing me in at 9am for the amnio and she said the test takes 4 to 5 hours only. And Theyd call me around 2pm. Talk about waiting on pins and needles for hours. Im trying to find percencts and stats on the amnio. A lot of people are say ing most babies are good at this time.

I had my son at 36 weeks.i had two amnios done the last one said his lungs were not developed enough but my preeclampsia took a turn for the worse,so I delivered that same day.
