Florida medicaid

posted 31st Oct
Okay so I just turned 18 October 3rd and, Unlike my sister, My medicaid is still active.
Not that that's not a WONDERFUL thing but, When is it going to become inactive? I don't want to have to worry about the hassle of losing medicaid before my cesarean, or not being able to go to a obgyn appointment due to lack of medical insurance. Should i just file for pregnancy medicaid even though im already covered or what?

(I've called every number in existence, other people's experiences seem to be my last hope lol. Also posting this in pregnancy issues because there seems to be a sliver of hope someone in that forum has had the same incident recently.)

you're pregnant, it should stay active. if anything just file for yourself since you are an adult now, and you will need it for your baby anyway.

You should have it for about three months after you have your baby. Keep an eye on when you have to resubmit the renewal info. If you do it a month ahead of time then you shouldn't have to worry about any lapse in coverage. And as soon as your baby is born, you need to call and let them know.

Your OB should have given you paperwork, proof of pregnancy and expected due date. You need to get that and send it to medicaid. They will add your unborn child to medicaid so when they are born they are covered.
