Texas Mamas...

posted 31st Oct
Again, we are considering moving there. We just bought in Arizona but we already have quite a bit of equity, and we are hoping that we'll be able to sell in a year or so and have a decent chunk of change or buy outright.

We are looking more to the western part of the state (as we'll probably be traveling to Arizona and California quite a bit because of our families).

We are also looking for a smaller town, preferably less than 50k but up to 100k is okay too! Or even a super small down "close" to a larger one like that... within 30 mins or so?

We just really want the small town vibe. We dont really have that here. Boooo. Any ideas? Thanks!

Austin or Round Rock or Pfluegerville. The last two are suburbs of Austin. I also love Buda, which is just South of Austin.

West Texas sucks.   lol. I know I'm no help, but I hated it there and moved away the first chance I got.

I lived in North Austin for a year (near 183 and 35) and worked in West Lake. I miss going to Zilker Park to run every morning.

Oh, OP, another place to look would be Lakeway or Bee Caves. I love the hill country!

Thanks ladies! I was just looking at Pecos, which has a small population and is an hour outside Odessa, but at least it has it's own Walmart. My ONLY concern is that I have to live in a town that has a Walmart or Walgreens, etc that is open in case I need tylenol or something in the middle of the night for the little ones. Living in a town where you have to wait until morning would freak me out! LOL

And I dont really WANT to live on the west coast, but there, it's only an 11 hour drive to my moms and his moms, so we can make it in a day if we needed to.

We currently live in Austin but we are from west Texas. Lubbock is a small town but not too small. Still plenty to do. What other things are you looking for?

There is also amarillo. I like that area, but prefer the hill country even if it is a little further. I would not live near the border, though!

Lmao... we plan on it.

I do pictures, so someplace with a lot of variety for outdoor shots would be great. Lots of trees, mountains/hills, etc.
