Austin is amazing. You dont have to live near downtown austin. Austin has alot of nature and great things to do with the kids. I cant wait till i can move back there. I lived for a year and i now live 4hrs away and I wish i lived closer to it.

Austin is very diverse, has county, has city, has nature, water, experiences. I think its a great city to raise your children. Im kinda partial to it. I love it there.

Sounds really neat! Is that on the west coast of TX too? I'm so bad at geography!

  We want to be within a day drive of our moms. I think Odessa/Midland is around 11'ish hours.

Maybe look at Abilene. It has a mall, two walmarts, several CVS Pharmacies and Walgreens. It's small and in the middle where its just a couple of hours from the bigger cities like ft worth/dallas, Lubboc, middland/odessa, etc. Living expenses are at a good price and there are some good schools/colleges in the area.

Awesome, thank you! I think we have to stay in our house for another year and a half. I think if we sell it before then, we have to pay capitol gains on it. Or maybe we can just rent it out when we move, who knows. DH wants to be out of here and into a small town before the kids start school.

What about Marfa??
