I had the same problem. I felt like I was starving him. I tried the nipple shield and everything. Still nothing worked :/ both my nipples ended up cracking and bleeding   and that was while the lactation consultant was helping me... I switched to formula, and I felt super guilty about it for a few days, but it made me feel so much better b/c I knew now that he was actually getting something to eat rather than starving himself trying to latch.

don't let anyone tell you you should feel guilty about it either...
