Strep Throat
posted 30th Oct
This is the first time my son contracted Strep so I have a couple questions for those who have kids who've had it.
My son is not eating anything so what are some of your kid's favorite sick foods that soothe the throat?
Is it normal for the my son to continue to have fevers of 102-103 at night time after 48+ hours on antibiotics?
Thanks ladies!

I dont think constant fever is right, after 24 hours the meds should have started attacking the virus. I actually have strep and a sinus infection in one! Ive been major hungry but not wanting to eat. I eat soup, ice cream, soft things. Things that are hot or cold. Be careful though because salty things or gatorade will burn like hell

chicken broth... jello... popsicles... pedialyte (to keep him hydrated)
Strep throat SUCKS... poor baby The last time I had it I was 20 and ended up bawling because I just would NOT get better... that and I'm a singer and I just knew my voice was going to be gone forever
Seriously though, felt like I swallowed glass

Soft cold food like Popsicles apple sauce and fluids don't push hard food cause its really hard to swallow and fevers are common to have the whole time

I had a fever like that for a while. I got a steriod and an antibiotic shot. Strep sucks. The other mommas food ideas are what I was going to mention. Soups,...etc.
