I feel like its my fault

[I posted here because i desperately need advice and i.feel bad enough i know its a protected forum]

today at my 20 week anatomy scan my lo appeared to be club footed.i know there could be worse things and it can be painfully corrected buti feel its what i deserve because i wanted to abort this baby because i didn't feel ready for another child, i had still even felt that way recently and not attached but today looking at the screen i fell in love.i just feel now the baby will suffer because i was so set on aborting...

i just desperately need advice i feel horrible.

i dont think that you should blame yourself for something thats beyond your control

a high percentage of babies are born with club feet, its just the way they're squashed into the uterus. It more than likely won't cause any long term problems.

Wait, I am confused how your child will suffer? You are having a gorgeous baby and you will love the baby. That can be corrected. I would KILL to have a baby.

If I believed that God punished us that way, I'd have killed myself years ago after my 3rd miscarriage. I'm an amazing mother and a good person. I don't deserve for my babies to die.

You contemplated doing something and now feel guilty for thinking of it because you have found that bond and love that baby---but neither of you are being punished for your thoughts.

I saw the way it was corrected was by surgery and breaking the ankles
baby would be in pain till it healed

Not necessarily ... most cases of club foot can be treated successfully with physio. It only needs surgery if its congenital ... which they won't know til its born

This is a great outlook your baby will be loved regardless, won't it and I'm not sure your beliefs but god doesn't punish things just happen your luck it can be repaired unfortunately something's can't.

Im trying so hard to be positive, i know it could always be worse...

My brother was born clubbed foot and really bad with corrective shoes but he plate ball didn't get made fun of or anything and you cannot notice he ever was unless he told you. There's nothing wrong with that baby and God was and is not punishing you what so ever!

Honey, it will all be ok. Your baby will be fine. Don't stress until born. Hugs.

Why would you be punished for doing the "right" thing? You can't control what you think.I understand illogical guilt, just keep telling yourself that you did nothing wrong and did nothing to cause this.

My mom was club footed when she was born. She also had corrective shoes and I never knew until she told me when I was expecting my oldest! I wouldn't worry about it! I'm sure when that baby gets here you will forget ever feeling like this! Good luck!!

Logically, there is no way you deserve to suffer. It's just a coincidence.

During the darker moments of my friend's first pregnancy she too wished she had aborted, when things were toughest with her ex. Her baby is normal.

Your baby's handicap is not your fault. At all.

Honey you're carrying this baby for a reason. A club foot can be corrected, if i'm correct. Don't feel guilty. You didn't cause this or knew of this. Don't blame yourself but feel joy bc you are bringing someone beautiful into your life & i'm sure when you hold himthat won't even matter.
