vaginal birth sounds scary

posted 30th Oct
Im terrified to vbac...but i know after what i dealt with after my c section this is probably the best route to take. but i just cant get over the fact that i have to squeeze a human out of my vagina. Can anyone reccomend any books or techniques to get my confidence up? I really dont want to go through another c-section.

I'm not pregnant, but I really hope to have a VBAC eventually...but yeah, there are different fears with each kind of labor. I know that there is a lot of pain with the C-Section...but the idea of muscles and skin tearing to pass a baby through...omg.

It's like pooping. Sort of. You may actually poop. Lol. I was terrified because they started talking c section. That scared me.

Watch some YouTube videos on vaginal birth. I had one with the help of forceps.

I don't know what books you can read..
But if it helps...I was scared too and I cannot remember the pain. At the time I felt a little bit but I was so focused on having a baby that the pain didn't really register as pain if that makes sense? And as soon as she was the pain completely disappeared because I was so focused in on her

Vaginal birth is intimidating but SOO worth it! I didn't have to get cut, so when i wanted to pee half an hour after popping out my daughter i got to walk to the bathroom, not have a nurse put a bedpan under my butt : / Plus you recover so much faster... But if they ask you if you want a mirror to watch the "miracle of birth" tell them hell no!!

Honestly, mine wasn't horrible. I did have the epi after 15 hours, but the recovery wasn't horrible. And the actual delivery, I only pushed twice. It took maybe 3 minutes. I only needed three stitches. You can do it!

the best resource I've found is the http://ican-online.org/ you can look up your area's fb group page and join. lots of women can point you in the right direction, give you advice, etc. They cut my research time down by just being able to ask them stuff. Some are doulas or midwives on my group, most know the providers in the area, and other places to point you.

I tore and I was allowed to go to the bathroom RIGHT after birth. The nurses helped me into the bathroom and into my fabulous mesh underwear lol

Vaginal birth was more surreal for me than scary. I got kind of delirious from the pain tbh (and maybe the diamorphene.. lol).
But the RELIEF when you push that baby out is immense. I didn't push for long, about 5 minutes or so (tho' it was the hardest 5 minutes of my life), and I didn't tear or need a cut!

thank you all...the whole "having a baby is like pooping" thing...oh dear. I dont even know the first thing about labor, i carried my son over 2 weeks & nada, they went to start the pitocen & his cord prolapsed. resulting in the c section.
