Exclusive Pumping

I want to start this for Mothers who only pump and feed with the bottle. I have made this decision and it is a hard choice but I had my reasons. I figured if I had someone who made the same choice or someone who is considering making this choice it would be easier.

I tried that with my son and it was super hard!! I EBF my first and I must say pumping and bottle feeding was much harder! Props to those who can do that lol

I don't, but we combination feed (she will take breast and bottle) and that was a heartbreaking choice for me, but we had to because she lost a lot her first week and wasn't gaining it back well at all.
I wish I could pump, but I have a pathetic supply   at least she is getting some breastmilk, but I wish it was exclusively

It is. I did it for three months until I could no longer keep up with his demand and my supply was messing up..plus the lack of sleep since I had to get up, feed him, change him, pump, clean the pump and do it again in a couple hours.

I tried to Exclusivley pump, because my son wouldn't latch. Even the lactation consultant told me he wasn't doing it properly. I only lasted 2 weeks pumping and gave up and went to formula. I have a TON of respect for anyone who can do that.

I have been exclusively pumping for 2 weeks now and between it and school I have no time for anything else. my son couldnt latch without a nipple shield and it was so painful i cried everytime i fed him. i am hoping to make it until he is 3 months at least. he is 5 weeks right now. I have thrush so i am struggling with supply. I go thrush from the 3 weeks of using the shield. I hope i can keep it up but it is exhausting!!

You go girl and I know exactly how you feel! It was the most exhausting thing I've ever done

It was excruciating for me at first as well, every time she latched I was wanting to scream it was so bad   my nipples are scarred, and have changed colour from brown to pink because of it. At least now that has stopped, but ohmygod I can understand why some women stop at that point!

yeh i was bleeding and had blisters on my nipples.

Ive been pumping for 4 weeks wanted to BF but as little one was so early he had a gastro tube now its out he wont latch on   but will take it from a bottle going to keep trying till at least December !

i have been doing it for 10 months and it sucks...pump every 4 hours..dont have a job..and dont really go any where cause every thing is on a time limit thank god i have 2 months left

I am pumping for a second time and this time by choice. Yes some days its hard, but the more you put in during the beginning the easier it is. I pumped 10 times a day for the first 8 weeks then went down in pumps becausei was getting about 70 oz. a day. I pump 6 times a day, often in the car be cause its easier.I made it pumping 8 months with my first and hope to make it to 12 with my second. Just wanted to give you some encouragement that its totally possible to do!

I pumped for 3 months when my son was in the hospital. Its not easy. Just don't skip! pump every 2 - 3 hours. If your gonna do this you need a good pump. Good luck

This is the same with me, except my son 9 months.
