L&D experts?!?!

My friend is due today she's at the hospital having regular contractions but only dilated to 1.5 cm.
Will they do a membrane sweep?

Not likely.

I went twice with contractions and was only 2 cms both times. They sent me home until they got closer together.


The only person that usually does that is the OB when you arent making any progress. If her contractions are regular, she will dilate on her own.

I think it depends. My midwife would only do those either at or after my duedate, but she never ended up doing it, the midwife at the hospital did and I was 4cm and totally effaced. I had 2, btw, but they did nothing at all, lol.
