Thinking about cloth diapers..need opinions

I've been looking into cloth diapers for this time around. After reading a lot of reviews, i THINK i've narrowed it down to Kawaiis or Charlie Banana cloth diapers. Does anyone have an opinion on either, or have a suggestion for something better?

I've never clothed my own, but have worked in daycares with infants who used them. My only advice is, regardless of the brand you buy, use disposables for nap/night time. It will save you washing the sheets everytime, which, if you count in all the extra water you'd be using, isn't environmentally friendly.

I prefer Alvababy over Kawaii (although I hear good things about Kawaii too), but Alva is my favorite and you can get them brand new for super cheap. They are a "one size" pocket diaper, although they do make newborn size now too.

I heard Charlie Banana is similar to Fuzzibunz and I love Fuzzibunz as well. They come in one-size diapers as well as sized (XS,S,M,L .. etc). I prefer the sized, but am currently trying out the new one-size called "Fuzzibunz Elite".

I highly recommend it! Although, like the other mama said, I do use disposables at night just so I don't have to change more than once. =D I think they are fine for naps and can be fine for going out too, depending on what you're doing.

I've heard Alva's are awesome, I have some ordered but haven't gotten them yet. They're cheap! And it's NOT true that cloth diapers leak overnight or at nap time. If I put DD in a pampers at night, she will leak right through but WON'T in a cloth.

apparently i missed out on reading reviews on Alva diapers. i'll have to check those out too! It's a whole new & scary world going into cloth diapers. Seems like a lot to learn but i think in the end it will be worth it.

Do you guys have a few of a couple different brands or do you just stick to one brand?

also, what is your preference? snaps or velcro closures?

at the beginning I bought used and tried lots of different ones until I found the ones I liked. now I mostly stick to those and still try a few different ones here and there if I find a good deal.

SNAPS! Velcro gets stuck on my shirt, and they stick together in the washer. I just got rid of almost all my velcros. And DD has started to pull at the velcro ones to take them off.

cloth def holds poop better. I've never had a blowout in cloth.

i had a feeling velcro would be more of a pain.
