Quoting I ♥ my girls!:" My daughter's 2nd birthday party is this Sunday and I still have no idea how to do her cake! She is having ... [snip!] ... are some pointer I can do to make sure it works out? Should I just do cupcakes and not a Cake?! Party things we bought! "
Quoting Cattails:" Have you ever played with fondant? I think it'd be cute to do a two tiered cake and have the bottom ... [snip!] ... painted around the edge, depending on how good you are at drawing. For little kids though, I would personally do cupcakes. "

Quoting I ♥ my girls!:" No I haven't everyone I talk to tells me it taste nasty lol. there will only be my 2 girls and one of their friends they rest family. My DH is the artist don't ask me to that is for sure lol"

Quoting Incognito Ninja™:" What about a regular shaped cake & use fondant to make the hippo like "
Quoting Cattails:" Homemade fondant doesn't taste too bad, and is fairly easy to make, just practice with it first "
Quoting Cattails:" Do you have a Dairy Queen where you live? They can print an edible image on the cake, could do a hippo on it?"
Quoting I ♥ my girls!:" I thought about that too. My hubby thinks fondant is nasty though... Its a tough thing with him"Instead of fondant, you could draw the outline of the hippo (by cutting out the image from one of the plates you got) and fill it in with frosting. You could also cut out the hippo from one of the plates and just place that on the cake and decorate around it.
