12 days postpartum

I delivered vaginally and I tore pretty bad. I had to get stitches and they still haven't dissolved. The doctor said it should only take about a week. Should I be worried?

I heard it takes 3 weeks, i dont know how long it took mine to dissolve i was too afraid to feel them

Mine definitely took longer than that.

They should dissolve soon. Usually they dissolve when everything is healed enough, so you might need a few more days. Typically it's 14 days for stitches. Not a big deal though. If they start smelling, hurting, oozing out greenish stuff, or itching really bad, let your doc know. I'd say you are fine otherwise.

I tore pretty good myself and I still have stitches. Had my son almost 3 weeks ago. Still bleeding too, have to use 2 pads to keep me going.

Mine took almost 3 weeks to dissolve. So no need to worry.
