EBF babies & ER?

posted 30th Oct
I haven't been feeling well at all today... nausea, vomitting, diarrhea, cramping, etc..
As the nights going on... the cramps are hurting SO BAD i can't sleep.
My LO is wide awake, and my mom will watch her if I go to ER...
I think ERs are gross and full of germs, so i really dont want to take her unless i HAVE to.
but, i have absolutely no milk in the fridge and she will eat again in 2 hrs...
I have Similac Advance cans... which I don't really wont to give her....but i am miserable. is it so bad to give her a bottle or 2 of it? shes had it before, in the nicu, and at 3-5 weeks old every once in a while when my milk supply was smurfed up and didn't supply enough for her.

What should I do?

Sounds like you have the FLU. Not much can be done in the ER. Do you happen to have any meds at home? Maybe some immodium or tylenol for the cramping? A warm bath will also do you good.

Honestly, I would pump before I went if you do go and get as much as you can. Then mix it with some formula if you aren't back in time. I wouldn't take her period.

I'd go with the formula, for sure. However, I'd first make sure that she'd actually be willing to take the formula. DS never had any and when we had to take him to the ER, the doctors wanted to give him pediasure and he flat out, absolutely refused.

If you feel like you can't wait until tmrw then use the formula. I had emergency surgery when my ebf ds was 7 weeks and dh had to buy formula to feed him. He had no problems going back to booby once I was out of recovery and had pumped out the anesthesia.

Feel better!
