Political nonsense

So we just spent a few hours at SO's parent's house to do laundry... SO's dad is stocking up on canned foods and water. At first I was thinking, "uhhh the hurricane is NOT going to reach the middle of Texas..." Then when SO asked about it, his mom said, "because if Obama wins the election, everything is going to just be crazy!"

I made a comment to SO that it was hilarious and a little dramatic, to which he replied, "you really don't pay attention, do you?"

...first of all, I'm not even registered to vote, and typically could give two smurfs less about politics, but I've actually been reading political articles this year when the only thing he's been listening to politically is from his crazy father.

I'm so ready for election time to be over. Lol

But you should care about what happens, and you should be registered to vote. I don't care who you vote for but I think everyone should.

I don't think things will be "crazy" because of an election, but I do think we are probably in for financial turmoil and that it may be crippling for many if Obama is president during that time.
I think stocking up on food and water is a good idea as I think prices are going to skyrocket soon, interest rates are going up and the value of the dollar will be substantially less. So, buy non-perishables for storage at today's prices is a good idea.

Why do you say his father is crazy? You wont think he is so crazy when you are needing his food and water

It must be nice. But shouldnt knock someone cause they have money. You want to be rich then do do something about it. I use to be all about poor pitiful me, blah blah blah..then decided to do something about it. Some seem to forget Obama has a crap load of money also, wife and kids always going on vacations.

Oh God....my stepdad did the same thing in 2000...we still make fun of it from time to time....he stocked the garage full of water and canned food like the world was ending..why doesn't his Dad just start a garden? And can his own food ;).

I'm an avid gardener and cook and there is no way I'd be able to do much with growing my own food and having enough to can it.
