C-SECTION

Ok, I would like to know everyone's personal experience with the c-section? On Jan.3 i have to have a c-section and kinda nervous because it is the first time i ever went through. I also wanna know how it felt with the spinal block? Please just post your personal experience thank u all

Mine was almost 16 years ago, but overall it was a good experience.

I took the advice of my nurses and got up as soon as I felt ready and walked around. I didn't stay in one place too long which helped cut my recovery time down.

I had a c-section 10 1/2 months ago and my experience was good overall. Getting up and moving as soon as I felt ready led to a quicker recovery in my opinion.

i had a c-section august 24th. i was induced 10 days early for medical reasons, my sons HR kept dropping when i had contractions and i wasnt dilating so it was an emergency c-section. not sure what a spinal block is, i had already had my epi and they did it like that, the top right of my stomach (kind of my rib area) didnt numb completly so thaat kinda hurt but i didnt want to get any pain meds till DS was out, after that they gave me every bit of pain meds they could and i slept through getting stitched up and took a nap in the recovery room, DS had to go straight up to NICU because he was breathing heavily and was GBS positive. Healing from it was a smurf! it hurt to move. But the more you move around the faster you start to feel better. And when they come in to give you pain meds TAKE THEM lol. They would ask me on a scale of 1-10 what my pain was and id just be like oh its a 1 and then ten minutes later when id actually try to move around i would be dieing,


Also, take the stool softners and ask for gas medicine! When you get home buy some gas-x, that was the most horrible pain i had felt was having gas, you dont think about the fact that you were cut open and air get trapped and gives you gas.

Also, How long in the recovery room? I know its probley diffrent for diffrent hospitals but just an idea would be helpful?

i was told untill i could move my legs without any help and as long as i didnt feel dizzy or nasause or anything

i could right away, DS was rushed to NICU so i only got to see him for maybe a minute, i got out of surgery at 5 and they do shift change at 630 so i was rushing to get out of recovery so i could get up to NICU to see my son and then be able to go to my room before shift change. it was prolly an hour. i took a little nap too and woke to SO at my bed telling me how our son was doing.

Why do you have to have a c-section? Mine was horrible. They tried to induce me first with cytotec ( not fda approved for induction I might add) only 4 days after my due date. Baby was fine, doc was impatient. Cytotec was pointless. Made me stay overnight for no reason broke my water @ a cm dilated wouldnt let me out of bed. Put me on low dose of the pit for 2 hours b/4 csection.. epi or slinal block wouldnt take. Got put under. Surgeon cut an artery not once but twice. Lost a lot of blood. Next night rushed into surgery for internal bleedin. Stayed at hospital for full 7 days. Out for 3 and back in for 5 for incision infection. Took almost 3 full months to heal completely.. Im going for a vbac this time.

How long before you start going numb after they put the spinal in? Reason is i really want my husband in there when i start having that sensation over my body
