Has this ever happened to anyone elses baby

So today my friend took her 6 week old baby in for shots. When they stuck him he cried & when she picked him up to calm him down, he went limp in her arms and they couldn't get him to wake u for 3 minutes. The doc said he passed out because of the pain from the shot. I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone elses baby. She is stil so upset.

No, but that would freak me out. That doesn't sound normal.

my kid got dtap today and I was giving him kisses while he got the shot and he giggled the whole time and had no idea he got poked.

I don't think that's normal, and I wouldn't feel comfortable getting him anymore shots for a long time.

That definitely doesn't sound normal.

I'd say normal but I guess it depends on the baby. Like when my DD was a baby and fell a sleep after a good cry there was no waking her up no matter how hard I tried.

Not to scare you or anything but..
I know someone who's baby went limp and unresponsive after vaccinations and her daughter died less than 24 hours later.
The medical examiner ruled it as SIDS, but my friend swears the shots killed her.

Ohh my gosh, this is so sad!
And to the OP, if it was my kid, I would take it to another doctor and get him/her checked out to make sure all was okay.

No that is not a normal reaction...I would report it.. poor baby  

Has he never passed out before after crying? He needs to have a few scans done on his heart to rule out heart problems.
Fainting for stress isn't typically a normal response until the body is older when it is less able to control blood pressure- etc.

I don't think that's normal. :/. I'd have him get checked out IMO.
