Well I have had 2 miscarriages this past year and the Dr just called me a couple days ago and said the reason is because I am prone to blood clots and don't have any folic acid in my body (She is going to prescribe me a higher dose prescription) and if I ever got pregnant again I would have to be on blood thinners. My question is this has anyone else had this and should I be on blood thinners now since she said I am prone to blood clots (that confuses me) Just wondering
Its actually really common, you're more prone to blood clots when your pregnant then when your on BC. Im not positive (we just learned about this in class last week and I dont remember lol) but im pretty sure its from the high estrogen and progesterone levels.
Quoting InkDMomma:" I have the same thing it's a genetic disorder. It's not a big deal though Don't worry."
Same here.
I have had 3 miscarriages and just found out I have MTHFR. I take 2400 mcg of folic acid daily, plus 81 mg of aspirin. When and if I get pregnant, I will be switched to Lovenox injections. I'm hoping for healthy pregnancies for all of us!
I have to take baby aspirin when not pregnant for my clotting disorder. I have protein C deficiency. During pregnancy I have to take Lovenox by injection.
