lots of pressure and tightening without pain??

Im 38 weeks and I have a doc appt tomorow morning but for an entiee week I've had horrifying pressure and lots of tightening but jo pain with the tightening. Baby has already dropped so I know its not that. I have 2 other children but never had this before. Any suggestions on what it could be.

Yeah. It's 6 lbs of baby sitting on your vagina.  

Braxton Hicks, probably. Or baby balling up.

Is the tightening in your belly? Are you able to time it regularly if it is? Labor does not always start out painful.

If it's been a week she's probably not in labor. It's probably BH.

True! I missed the week part!  

I have the same thing. Midwife says it's normal BH and just pressure of the baby.

Well I dont think its BH cuz I've had those for about 3 weeks and its all in uterus. Baby doesnt like to be balled up. She is always stretched out 24/7. Every doc appointment she measured bigger than I should be and it was cuz she was stretvhed out. I lost my mucus plug about 2 weks ago. And was dilated to a 3 and 40% effaced last teusday. Im getting induced next Tuesday. Tomorrow is my last doc appt.

Good luck! My real labor contractions started out as just tightening and pressure but they were 2 minutes apart. Thankfully hubby talked me into going in. The contractions started at 11:45, I was checked into L&D and checked at 1 am and was almost 8 cm, and delivered my son at 1:31 am!!

That was the first contraction I had felt of my whole pregnancy. Never had BH.

Tightening has sort of stopped. Now its pain in my sides and painful pressure. I also noticed when I use the bathroom there is a cloudiness. When my water broke with my son it was cloudy. But I dont have any wetness in underwear. Baby has sslowed movement since about 645. Dull lower back pain not super intense. Im just not sure anymore. I went in so many times with my first daughter. Thinking my water broke. Never did. Suggestions on cloudy fluid??

Really have no idea cuz my water never broke at home. I do know you are supposed to lay down for a while with pad on and then stsnd up.and see if you leak...


I would keep an eye on it though. You can always make a trip in if you get too concerned.

I had a lot of pressure in my butt with my son. But the pressure came and went like the contractions.

Could be labor but could be an infection...either way call your ob/midwife
