use a carseat/booster seat?

Our state law says children must use a carseat/booster seat til the age of 9. I havent seen many kids that age in any sort of carseat. My son is 7.5 and uses one. I saw a girl at Walgreens the other day sitting in the back of the car. She couldnt have been older than 5, but was only strapped in a seat belt. Taking my son to school and pickig him up, same. Not many parents seem to know about the law because it used to be age 5 and they no longer had to use one. I didnt know about this until my son turned 5 and I learned he still had to use his booster seat.

DD is 10 and has not used a booster seat since the age of 8. The legal age to sit in a regular seat.

my daughter is 7 and yes she does. Our booster goes by height and weight...Not by age. Its like 40-100 pounds. Now dont know when she will be 100 lbs but i prob wont leave her in it for that long. I dont see why people dont use them...My daughter hops in and does her own seatbelt up, its not like i even have to do it. She has the one with the back on it and the seatbelt goes through the thing. At that age they need one otherwise the seatbelt will be in the wrong spot and it could be bad if you ever got in a crash...unless you have a freak 7 year old and shes like almost 5 feet LOL

The law here is 4'9"/8 years/80 lbs.. my kids are too young just yet to meet those requirements (they're still in 5 pt) but will be boostered until they do.

The laws in our province say that if they are under 9 and between 40-80lbs, or who are under 4'9 must use a booster.

DS is 6 but will be in a booster until he outgrows the height and weight, he's a short little guy though so who knows when he'll get out of it. I tried to put it on the bus but they didn't have seat belts.

My exhusband is 6'4" and our daughter who is 10 years old is 5'6" already. Her knees are completely jammed in the back seat when there is someone in the front seat and the front seat isn't set all the way up.
She was in a booster until she was 4'9" and she was 8 at that time.
I'm fighting with her because she hates not having leg room but they want the kids in the back because of the airbag. 12 and younger is supposed to be in the back and I cringe to think of how tall she will be by the time she is 13 at the rate she is already growing.
