Gene Deletion!!! Very rare/ IUGR
posted 29th Oct
I had a baby boy on april 23rd of 2012 I was 38 weeks. He weighted in at 3lbs 12oz. They ran some test and really couldn't find out what was wrong with him. His Billiruben was high and his liver enzymes were hi also. They finally ran a chromosome test and found out he is missing 4 genes in his X chromosome. There was a study done on three other boys 10 years ago and they never had another one with until my son was born. It was hard to hear that they don't know what is in store for my little guy. The other boys were 4 months and 11 months when they past away. I was just wondering if there is a parent out there with a son that had IUGR? if so I would love to talk to with. My son had other things also going on but the docs did say he was IUGR.

IUGR simply means he hasn't grown normally inutero. The other problems are not called IUGR (intrauterine growth retardation). The missin genes could have caused the IUGR. Most babies born small end up being healthy adults later on. But your lo has other complications that affects the outcome.. I hope he survives this. So sorry
