what to do next

Ive had trouble breathing for quote a few days now with pressure in my chest. I went to the walk in clinic a few days ago and they sent me to the emergency room where they did xrays and An EKG. They said it might be bad acid reflux or an ulcer.now I'm staying to get sharp stabbing pains in the right side of my chest, so should i give these meds they have me longer to kick in or make a new appointment.i don't want to look like a nutcase going in only a few days later

Most medications that treat reflux take a few days to fully work. Well, PP Inhibitors take a few days to fully take effect. Try to relax and see how it goes for a few days. You can chew some tums at the same time. Eat a bland diet until you figure the source of the problem.

The pharmacist recommended taking liquid acid reducer along with the protonix. So I'll give it a few more days, thank you.

Protonix is a proton pump inhibitor. That means that it reduces the amount of acid produced. That does take a while for full effect. Good Luck and feel better soon!

That might be why he said to take the liquid acid reducer while waiting for the protonixto kick in then.

Yes. Tums will work as well. Liquid can be nasty. lol
