Men at baby shower

posted 28th Oct
Did you have guys at your shower/sprinkle? If so, did you modify your plans as opposed to an all females party?
I have ONE guy coming to my shower, and i'm curious as how to make him more comfortable since i myself have only met him twice, and he'll only know two other people there.

There really isn't anything done at a babyshower that should make a guy uncomfortable, IMO.

We had games for the men... and they all played because they won bottles of alcohol lol, women won gift cards to bath and body, but some of the women were fighting to play the *guy* games lol

Its more of the fact that he isn't really gonna know anyone, and he hardly knows me.

I have no issue with men at a baby shower. However, my fiance said that baby showers are for "squawking hens" lol He did not want anything to do with it. Idk what you could do to make just ONE guy feel more comfy though. Idk if its even possible lol. Why just one?

The guys in my life would have been bored stiff at my shower. My husband didn't even come.

Now, when we did the gender party with our son we had guys there. It was really just time to hang out, have lunch and then after we all ate, Hubby and I cut the cake and we all learned the gender at the same time. No frilly games, decorations, and no gifts. Just those closest to us having a meal and learning together what we were having.

Well my dad and fiance refuse to come. So i didn't invite any other guys, i don't even know many who'd come. But for some reason, SO thought it'd be a good idea to invite his best friend, and he said he'd love to come, even though SO wont be there. When i said he might be uncomfortable, all SO said was "He's gay, he'll blend in."

Gotcha  just be a polite host. I wouldn't try to over-include him just so he feels comfortable cause that may make him feel uncomfortable....like one of the posters said include one "manly prize" incase he wins one of the games .

I did, and a friend of mine did as well. We called it "a celebration of life" instead of a baby shower though. Neither of them really did anything different and everyone had a good time. Even if people didn't know each other they still talked.

Lol he probably will have fun if he agreed to come without his friend there. I would just continue your shower as you had planned. Maybe get a guy gift for if he wins a game is all I would do lol.

My shower is saturday, and everything was bought before he was invited. SO if he wins, he's stuck with candles and lotion lol

If he's gay, he may be used to being around a lot of women then. Not being offensive ..just saying.
