I'm sure there are people who cannot afford a car seat and would take a used one since by law you HAVE to have one. If you feel comfortable enough giving it away go for it.

I do feel bad for those people who can't afford car seats... and I'd love to help, but I think I'm going to take it to babies r us. I didn't know they took used items back in exchange for a discount! So awesome. I just don't want to risk the safety of a baby using an expired car seat... even though it's fine now, that's not to say that someone won't use it when it actually is expired. I just don't want to risk that... I know I'll think about it and obsess over it later, so babies r us, here we come! lol Lets hope I don't go on a major shopping spree... I frickin love that place.

I agree and I think that is a great idea.

There are also places that will take your used car seats to recycle .

I'm all for bargain shopping and used items but that was the one thing I told DH we would buy used no matter if I had to pose for fat preggo porn to make the money. The problem being is chances are if you gave it to a foundation or consignment or something the people would use it a lot longer then they should - better to trade or junk.
