Low set ears and syndromes?

posted 28th Oct
Someone made a comment about my baby having small low ears. I have no idea why but I googled, and found that low set ears go with a lot of syndromes like turners and down sundrome, but we know she doesn't have downs!
Here are some photos i took just now (sorry im on my phone!) What do you think? She's 11 weeks.

Front on you can't even see here ears. Ummm. I've just put her to bed ill see if I have anything else.
I've been looking at where her is with her jawline? And neck? It does look really low to me. Or do babies not have necks yet lol

No she's fine. It's supposed to be if the top of ear is BELOW her eyeball line. Like if you held a ruler from the side of eye to the top of her ear, if her ear is BELOW the ruler. I can tell by the second pic it's not.

Babies don't really have visible necks at first. You'd think if it was a possible issue, the Pedi or a nurse would've mentioned it.

She does have tiny ears She's a baby though so they will grow a lot, I'm sure she'll be happy not to have huge ears when she's older

Yea I wasn't sure lol, because with turners they have a webbed neck too and I couldn't tell if it was a normal baby neck or kind of webbed lol.
I have a well baby nurse coming next month so ill ask her to check, I wasn't sure if it was something that should be looked at now or not. I'm a neurotic mother LOL

She looks like she has a normal baby neck.

I am pretty sure they look normal to me, but even if they were low set she would have to have other facial features along with the low set ears for it to even be a possibility of her having a syndrome.

My daughter has low-set ears, and she has something called Turner Syndrome. The low-set ears is one of the signs.

That being said, it is hard to tell from your pictures. I am sure she is perfectly fine. But if it worries you, maybe ask her pediatrician at her next check-up.

Yes and other people fulling your head with crap.

Hazel has a mongolian mark on the bottom of her back, some dip smurf tried to tell me it means she's autistic, this was when she was a baby, those marks are really common in maori/half maori babies.

I'm sure A is just fine, little cutie that she is!
