Finally a fever with no seizure!!

My little man has a seizure disorder and typically when he has a virus or some kind of infection setting in his first symptom is a seizure. Before fever or cough or anything, he has a seizure. And his seizures start as absent seizures and progress in full rigid conclusive seizure with labored breathing. It's terrifying and we've never seen him come out of a seizure without having medicine to end it. His longest seizure was 40 minutes before they finally found a medicine to stop it. Adavan. We have him on daily keppra and distat for breakthrough episodes.
Well last night he had a fever and we wanted to let his fever do its justin and help his immune system fight off whatever was causing it. Normally, per neurologist orders, we medicate a fever immediately to avoid a seizure. But we didn't last night becUse I wanted to trust his medicine and let his fever work. He slept with me all night and never seized! His fever broke on its own at about 3am after hitting 103 and still not seizure!! I'm so happy! I'm hoping he's on the road to growng out of this! Fingers crossed.

I can't imagine what you've been through! So glad that he didn't have one. Hopefully he'll outgrow it soon. God bless!

My kids have febrile seizures also it runs in the family, it is a very scary thing.
