BFN 8 days late for AF

So, I took a test tonight using one of the cheap dollar store pink line cartridge tests (the one you use the dropper for, not a stick), and got a BFN. I'm usually like clockwork, so even being one day late is not normal. Not to mention the nausea, super sense of smell (smelled my adopt-a-mom's cough drop from the living room while she was in the kitchen), tender boobies, and constantly having to pee. There are NO signs of AF making an appearance anytime soon, and creamy white discharge. Opinions?

Get a blood test??

I'm considering it, but I was more curious if anyone else has had issues with the dollar general tests. I know with past pregnancies I've had them be BFN's into the second month of an ultrasound confirmed pregnancy. I only got one of those today cause I'm still waiting on my paycheck to come in. Any other HPTs you might recommend?

I've taken two myself, both dollar store ones. AF should have reared her ugly head on the 17th and still a no show. I got one ridiculously faint positive and one negative. I prefer the Dollar store tests because I hate paying ridiculous amounts for something I am going to pee on. IF I get a positive I will re-test with a more expensive brand before going to my Dr and asking for blood confirmation. I've heard of a lot of people who just don't have high enough HCG levels for tests until later in their pregnancy. I know it's hard, I'm in the same boat as you, but retest in a week or so. I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant, my boobs feel like they are bruised and have dark veins that aren't usually there. I have had to wear panty liners the past 2 weeks because of constant "wetness", I had a craving for Octoberfest Sausages the other day and ended up getting sick to the smell of them cooking and even though I tried to eat one I couldn't take more than a bite and had to force myself to swallow it. I'm COMPLETELY wiped out, and just plain feel pregnant. It's scary after miscarrying almost exactly one year ago. One thing though, if I am, in fact, pregnant...Due date is my 3 year wedding anniversary  Best wishes to you, hope you get the results you're hoping for/!

Thanks guys, I really don't want to go to the doctor if this is just a false alarm caused by stress. Mamastj, I think you're right about the low hCG. From what I understand, the DG cassette tests do take a higher level of hCG to show positive. I think when I get paid this weekend I'm going to go get some better tests from Walmart. I've always had good luck with the Fact Plus tests, so we'll see.

Okay, so I'll admit I'm a POAS addict and that I'm impatient. I was at the dollar store tonight, and picked up another dollar store test (despite hating them). I intend to take it with FMU tomorrow, since it'll be two days since I last tested (and AF will be 10 days late), so hCG should have doubled. If that one shows BFN, too, than I'll buy a better test this weekend. All the symptoms are there, so I wanna KNOW!

Have you had any luck with the test???

No luck so far. Have taken two since the OP (another dollar store test, and a blue +/- test) and both have been BFN's, but still no AF. I'm really confused  

I'm 5 days late now, on cycle day 30 when I usually average 24. Sore boobs. :/ tested 3 days ago with a BFN. Waiting just a couple more days and testing again.

Are you using opks to track ovulation? The reason I'm asking is because I'm like clockwork also. I can tell you the moment she comes each month that is how accurate I am. The both times that af was 10 and 11 days late I used opks and each month I did not ovulate. This can cause a delay in periods. All the other months I've gotten positives when I used opks and AF came on time. So it could be possible you just had a month with no ovulation. It happens sometimes. AF was 11 days late. I was supposed to start on the 21st and didn't start until the 1st. This was I think due to being on metformin last month. I think it screwed me up so I hope with AF finally arriving that I will have regular cycles now. I'm no longer taking it.

No but I know I ovulated, I had all the signs and I definitely know my body. 3 days after ovulation and bd'ing I had lighting spotting, one time and then it stopped. I don't ever miss a period. If anything I bleed all month.

Well, AF finally showed up yesterday, two weeks late. I guess I didn't ovulate this month, and my body just wants to screw with my head.

Don't you hate when that happens. It pissed me off even more considering I was taking a medication that was supposed to HELP me ovulate. It basically took my normal LH hormone and made it go down to where it caused me not to ovulate.
