If they were online, yes. I don't think so if you canceled it before they could see, though.

probably not unless they were online at the time and saw it before you canceled.

it may say there is a friend request but when you go to look it wont be there. im not sure if thats what it does but i did realize one time that i had a friend request notice and when i opened it there was nothing there

In the notification email though...when they check their email. does it say so and so sent you a fiends request or does it say you have a new friend request. I am kinda freaking. Stupid touch screen, lmao.

I think they will get an email saying you sent them a request. Why are you freaking out?

If they are not on the computer then no they won't see it. But if they have their notifications coming to their phone, then they received it as soon as it was sent. This happened to me a few days ago with one of my ex-friends. I guess she was trying to be nosey on my page, but I have my notifications coming to my phone, so I knew she had sent it, then canceled the request

Well I have family that ive never known but they were looking for me...I don't want them near me and they don't know my new last name. Buuut I was curious and checking out her fb and accidentally tapped the friend request thing

Oh, makes sense. Well hopefully they won't check their email. You could always just block them if you're that concerned.

Not so much that I don't want then to see my facebook as I don't want them knowing my name or thinking I want to talk to them and harassing my family again.

You don't mind if they see your facebook but you don't want them to know your name? That doesn't make any sense lol.

I meant blocking them won't help and that my worries aren't strictly facebook related. The issue is not them seeing my fb it is simply them thinking I want to contact them and knowing a name to look for me under...

They will only get an email about a new friend request if they have that option clicked on FB. I don't cause Im sick of my inbox being invaded by FB stuff lol. If they do have the option selected it'll email them telling them exactly who it was that added them.
