Would you fear your kid being an introvert?

Well someone I know (not going to say names or who it specifically is) told me she is afraid her son will be an introvert and she thinks it is a horrible thing. Like she acts ashamed of him wanting to play alone and do more things alone than with his classmates. I told her she just needs to accept him as he is and do things that go with the way he is and not try to push him into being something or someone he is not. She told me she is afraid he will be picked on if he is an introvert because he will be the quiet one, and I understand the fear of your kid being bullied but, idk I guess I just don't see a reason to fear if your kid is an extrovert or introvert.

I personally am an introvert and I am quiet and I was kind of bullied in elementary & middle school but, imo it made me a better person to go through that because I know what it is like to be made fun of, and I always try to avoid hurting people's feelings now as an adult.

Has it or would it bug you if your kid was an introvert?

I'm an introvert, and it would not bug me at all. If anything... being an introvert helped me mature a bit faster. I wasn't the loud one, wanting attention, doing silly things to get attention, etc. I kept to myself, got through school, and work for the stuff I have.

I'd actually prefer if my child was an introvert  

DH is an extremmmmmmmme introvert. And I am not.
DH has one friend. And he didn't even go to his wedding.
I wouldn't HATE my kid being an introvert, people are who they are. But I see DH's life as being tougher because of it.

Hell no. My DS is such an extrovert(like me) it's embarrassing sometimes lol. Nothing wrong with either.

I agree. Yea, I mean I would love for my daughter to be an introvert like me because I could probably understand her better but, if she was an extrovert I would probably research things to do to help bring out her personality.

wouldnt bother me either i have one of each my oldest is quite and prefers to be by herself where as my youngest is so loud and has to have every one around her and be center of attention

I am an intorvert, but around certain people I am silly. My son is a little bit of both. He is awesome!

I agree, life has been toughter as an introvert and I do have very few friends but I am just the type of person who prefers one good close friend vs a bunch of not so close friend kwim?

I am the same way. I am an intovert...my son seems not be though. He's like my husband very outgoing and loves to be with friends.

I am an introvert. Have been my whole life, I just prefer being on my own, doing things alone. Even on the internet I am, hence my post count after being here since '08!
